CHAPTER 11 Cruiser’s Night Club
I had been approached by different people about opening a nightclub and while I started liking the idea, my wife wasn’t crazy about it. I went looking for a location and after several places, I couldn’t find one that made sense. After exhausting all the tips I had, a guy I knew approached me about a building that had once been a nightclub/restaurant, a massive structure that was closed due to the last two owners’ going bankrupt. I purchased the building because I could get it cheap and the bank was willing to help some and I had charge accounts I could use. Talk about fear, especially when some business people asked me if I thought I was smarter than the two previous owners. I have to admit I was concerned until the night we opened and I looked out and saw a huge line waiting to get in. They just kept coming night after night for the next eight years.
