They did all the usual stuff, like not dessert, no friends coming over and things like that but I.M. continued to refuse to get out of the nest, eat different foods, study his lessons or learn to fly.
I am sure you can see that this would really worry his parents but they were at a loss to know what to do about I. M.’s behaviors.
Some of the parent’s friends suggested that should just stop feeding him and then he would eat something besides chopped worms. Another adult friend suggested that I. M.’s parents should just push him out of the nest and “By golly, then he would learn to fly.”
But I. M.’s parents did not want to be mean to I.M. but they also knew that his behavior would not continue forever. After all, if he can’t fly, he can’t get food. And even if he can fly he will have a difficult time finding already chopped up worms to eat.
