Page 7 - G-Trying Medal
P. 7

I. M.’s mother was very smart and she stopped herself from telling I.M. the real name of the object.
Instead she told him, “I.M., this is a medal given to those who try very hard to accomplish a difficult task. Every time you attempt something you usually would not do or were afraid to do, you are allowed to place this medal in your wing feathers until sundown. Then you have to give it back to your parent until you attempt another difficult or scary task.”
I.M. just could not help but stare at the beautiful shiny medal that was awarded to those who attempt difficult or scary tasks. “Mother what is the medal called?” With no hesitation his mother replied, “It’s known as the Trying Medal.”
That night I. M. could not help but imagine how excited he would be to have the shiny medal in his feathers.
