Page 13 - SB-Collard Green Garden
P. 13

Time passed and collard casseroles and collard pies and collard ice cream just were not very good. Even the collard pizza left a lot to be desired.
Day after day she sat in a little chair at the edge of the garden and sighed and sighed. She thought about all the things that could be growing instead of just the collards.
Then she would remember the Rabbit and how changing it would make it difficult for him.
Or, she would think about the Owl and his warning about her not knowing how to make a garden.
Finally she would think about the Bull and just shudder.
Now, I am a patient type of crow but I had about enough. I had spent a good part of the summer at this farm just to see what would happen. Winter would be here soon and this garden would be covered with snow. Finally, the garden would be some color other than green.
At this point, I decided I had to say something about what had been happening.
