The Old Elf became annoyed at the second crane’s questioning the wisdom of his ideas. The Old Elf then said, If you refuse to obey me, I will put a curse on your flock.
According to the legend, that was the wrong thing to say. The second crane chased the Old Elf down the road and told him to keep his ideas and his Curse.
The two cranes returned to their flock and told of their meeting with the Old Elf. Some said that they should listen to the wisdom of the Old Elf, while others said that the ideas of the second crane made more sense. Still others were concerned about the Elf’s Curse.
