Anyway, the cranes selected two from their flock to seek out the Elves in order
to ask them what should the cranes should do to insure that they survived in this changing world.
The two cranes selected by the flock went in search of the Elves. I doubt that any of those cranes realized how important this selection had been.
As it turned out, it was the most important selection in the history of cranes ... the beginning for some and the end for others.
