The ability to pay attention even when you are not interested in the topic is a very important “grown-up” skill. To allow others to go first or have something before you have it is a very “grown-up” skill.
Learning to be civil is a “grown-up” skill. And if you want to be a successful and happy grown-up, you need to learn these skills.
1. If you are getting bored in class, but you tell yourself, "Look at the teacher and pay attention", what type of thinking are you having?
2. If others are pushing to get to the front of the line and you choose to get out of the way and let them pass, what type of behavior are you showing?
