 MINUTES ... from page 7
Entrance Committee Report – Sandy Smith – There has been difficulty with delays from the architects we have been in contact with, so no progress has been made. Another name was suggested. Will try to meet with him. May go with a draftsman instead of a landscape architect. Henry reported that we have been waiting since July for an insurance check for damage to the sign. Henry consulted Sherry Morris, SECPID attorney. Will send demand letter.
Public Works Report – Ray Domingue – Jones Creek project –still doing a little correction work on manholes and drainage. City does not plan on putting in streetlights.
O’Neal Lane construction project – O’Neal Lane is open. There are just a couple of items on the punch list, which will be completed by Saturday. Speed limit on both roads is still 35 MPH.
Old Business –
BREC Park – Cody Albright, BREC Program Coordinator, was present. He requested the help of SHA in promoting the park. Cody did a walk- through of the park with Henry to learn what we have to say. He is looking for input into what we want to see at the park. Suggestion was made to post BREC activities schedule on the websites of all of the nearby homeowners associations. Cody mentioned that the facility closes at 8:00 pm unless reserved for a later time, but the park itself closes at dark. He will check whether or not the gates are supposed to be locked at dark.
Christmas Decoration Contest Winners – There was a tie for first place and a tie for third place. 16901 General Forrest and 5368 Kennesaw tied for first place, and each will receive a $100 gift certificate to Hi Nabor. 6247 Chattanooga and 17247 Sharpsburg tied for third place, and each will receive a $25 gift certificate to Hi Naborn. Respectfully submitted, Eileen Stradley - Secretary Secretary@shawebwatch.com
SHA Meetings Have a New Home
The gym/community center revisions to the Antioch Blvd are completed. The meeting room is available for SHA’s monthly meetings. The entire facility offers a number of opportunities for neighborhood groups to host events.
We greatly appreciate the availability of the library all these years. The BREC Park offers one feature that the Jones Creek regional Library did not: it is actually IN Shenandoah Estates.
