Too Many Homes Have
NO VISIBLE ADDRESS
Our emergency service personnel - Fire, Police and EMS - are highly trained and possess many special skills, but they are not psychic. They can’t find your house if it has no conspicuously posted address.
We run an article similar to this just about annually, unfortunately for good reason.
Tonight, after dark, take a flashlight and go out your front door. Now, go stand in the middle of your street (carefully-don't get run over!) and look back at your own house. What can you see?
Can you read your own address? Quickly? Clearly? If so, you can stop reading now.
If not, think about it. In East Baton Rouge Parish, we have enhanced 911. All you have to do to get help is dial 911. Your address is given to the system automatically, and the ambulance, fire truck, or Sheriff’s unit is dispatched to your address. When they arrive on your street, how long will it take them to find your home? When seconds count can help find you?
