WORKSHEET
Here Cosmos talks about how being unwilling to be cooperative and to do the boring, difficult but necessary tasks in life can lead to interpersonal problems. One of the more significant problems discussed is the Lost of Trust that others have in you. Those who have the type of beliefs demonstrated by Howard are great excuse makers. In time, others will not trust that they will follow through with promises and once lost, Trust is very difficult to regain.
1. What was the, “last straw” that caused the other squirrels to lose, “Trust” in Howard?
He was suppose to be watching out for predators from the, “lookout” tree but was not watching for predators because he was either angry or bored.
2. What did Howard say to the mothers of the young squirrels who almost got caught?
He said that they should take better care of their children.
3. What type of thinking did Howard have during the, “Owl Incident?” What type of emotions and behavior did this thinking cause for Howard?
Howard had Stinky Thinking and that caused him to be angry and act ugly toward the others.
4. If you have a classmate who acts like Howard, would you want to help them with a project?
(In most cases, if someone acts like Howard, we tend not to want to help them.)
