Page 5 - SB-Polly Perfect

The movie was in black and white and it was fuzzy. I later learned that the bird in the movie was a parrot. Well, I thought if they pay good money for a parrot to sit on someone’s shoulder and say “Polly want a cracker,” I need to fly to Hollywood.
The parrots who lived next to my cousin and his flock were not black and white. They were all green. I mean, they were completely green in color. All of them were green. Since I am all black, I thought that was really great, to be green that is.
Just as I was telling my cousin about how great they looked, I saw one that was a little different. She was all green except for some blue on her wing. I pointed her out to my cousin and he said, “Oh, yes, that’s Polly.”
Then with a crooked smile he said, “We call her Polly Perfect.”
Polly was a nice looking bird and the blue on her wing was the only way I could tell her from the other parrots. I asked my cousin why they called her Polly Perfect.
“Well,” he said, “Everything has to be her way, no exceptions. She has to always have the best food and the best grades. She always has an answer and it has to be accepted as correct or she gets really upset.
