Proposal_Jena02
P. 1
Hello Sammy and Craig,
November 25, 2019
I am ready to make a proposal to upgrade The Jena Times computer systems. I assume your scanning and printing equipment is in working condition and does not need to be replaced at this time.
The computer system I am proposing will support Apple’s most current operating system, macOS Catalina, Version 10.15.1. Apple’s requirements to support this new OS are not supported by older Macintosh Computers. There is every possibility Apple will release new Operating Systems but being able to support the current technology should provide compatibility going forward.
One of the critical issues with older computers is the Internet. What we have today is not “Al Gore’s Internet.” Technology has advanced to a point where some older computers are not able to load and view the new websites.
There are some minor questions left to be answered but they will not greatly affect the current proposal. Example: If some of the MacPro computers have extra internal hard drives, we will need external hard drive cases to use them on the new computers. Once the new computers are loaded with updated software and files from each workstation, the remaining computers and monitors will be evaluated for a Tax Credit Donation.
All of the equipment will be purchased (by you) from www.newegg.com and drop shipped to the Jena Times prior to my arrival. I estimate the total installation will take three days.
Cheers, Ed
