José Paulo – Ideal Decision

                                             AN EFFECTIVE LEADER

As my results were appearing, my responsibilities increased, the
number of people walking alongside me increased and I had to
          lead effectively.

The greatest mistake many businessmen make is to reach a ba-
seline, lock himself in a room with his CEO title and think things
will work alone. Take it off your mind. A true leader goes to the
field, inspires, and sets the example with his attitudes and good
results. It is one thing to understand leadership and another one
          to live the leadership.
I am not talking about an imperative leadership, quite the oppo-
site, to be where things happen, with great humility, but energizing
people. A team member who sees you have attitude, you practice
what you preach and have results will want to be like you and have
          the same results.

There is a method known as “Gemba” that in its essence com-
plements the above paragraph. Gemba means: “place where things
happen”. An effective leader must apply this method, after all,
staying behind the desk will not make an effective management.

Whenever you receive the news of some problem in the opera-
tion, whatever it is, have no doubt that it may contain noises that
conceal the truth and hide vital details for the smooth running of
          work.

If there is a problem that needs to be solved and you are the lea-
der, be on site, gather the facts yourself and have your own view on
what happened; starting from there, delegate tasks and your team

                                                                      57
