Message from the Executive Director:
Busy Times, But Take Time to Give Back
Well, the holidays are behind us, but the celebrating isn’t over yet! On January 21
we will have our Officer’s Installation Gala. This year will be an extra special event
th
as we will also be celebrating Nassau County Dental Society’s 75 Anniversary Dia-
mond Jubilee. An evening of good food, good friends and dancing will take place,
capped off with a special presentation of our 75 years. Attendees will receive a
Commemorative Journal to take home. If you haven’t done so already, please go
to our website and click the right side of the red banner at the top of the homep-
age to purchase tickets to this once in a lifetime event.

th,
We had a very busy Fall at NCDS. Between September 14 and December 12 we provided over 38 hours
of continuing education for our members, had a shredding and recycling event, two oral cancer screenings
for the public, The ADA House of Delegates in Houston, over two dozen committee and council meetings,
and our Board Room was dedicated to Mark J Feldman DMD. The board room ceremony was attended by
over 50 of our Board members, past presidents, and dignitaries from around the state. Kudos to Dr. Frank
Murphy, our 1991 NCDS Past President, who drove down all the way from New Hampshire for the event.
Thanks also to Greg Hill, NYSDA’s new Executive Director, who came from Albany and NYSDA President Jim
Galati, who came from the Saratoga area.
th
But it’s no time to rest. Besides putting the finishing touches on our Officer’s Installation Gala and 75 Anni-
versary Diamond Jubilee, we also continue to build out our course offerings for 2023. Everything is listed on
the website and it’s easy to register online. Please visit the website often as more courses are added fre-
quently at this time of year. We are also preparing for our Give Kids A Smile (GKAS) event which takes
th
place on Friday February 10 . This year we will return to the Cradle of Aviation Museum after a two-year
hiatus due to COVID. Our GKAS record of examining close to 1500 children in one day may fall. From the
way things are shaping up, we might break that record in 2023. To volunteer go to our website,
www.nassaudental.org and go to the green banner at the top of the home page. Finally, the Greater Long
Island Dental Meeting will be on April 25 and 26 at the Huntington Hilton. This promises to be better than
ever with more varied courses including unique hands-on courses. We will be using an App this year for a
smother registration process. There will even be a band on Tuesday night. Register for the fun, the bar-
gains, and the CE; all at a value that can’t be beat!
This issue of the Bulletin highlights the giving back and volunteer work of our members. Members volun-
