Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”
Willie Nelson reflected, “When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.” Take time
and volunteer, the personal reward can be great. It doesn’t have to be 50 medical missions; it can be as
simple as bringing a meal and visiting a lonely neighbor. Volunteering to serve on a Society Committee
wouldn’t be bad either.
Sow the seed of generosity and reap more benefits than you could possibly imagine.

Oral Care Education at the YMCA

On Wednesday morning November 16, 2022, NCDS 2023 President-Elect, GKAS Co-Chair, and Pediatric
Dentist, Dr. Douglas Schildhaus visited the Cross Island YMCA Early Childhood Program to speak to their
3 and 4 year old children about proper dental health and nutrition. The children had a fun time learning
about their teeth and how to take care of them, and were wowed by Dr. Doug’s magic tricks. A good
time was had by all.
