• Will you be able to maintain autonomy over all aspects of clinical care?
• Who will control the staffing decisions?
• How they calculate payments to you on the purchase and on the employment end?
• Can the DSO or the dentist terminate the business relationship and on what terms?
• Will you maintain control over patient records?
What length of time and geographic radius is included in the restrictive covenant both during and after
employment?
The significance of all the above should not be taken lightly. It is always helpful to have any agreements
reviewed by an attorney with experience in such matters. The guidance and assistance of an experienced
