$40K Raised for Oral Health Care Programs in NYS

On Saturday, May 31, we gathered for the New York State Dental Foundation’s Annual Brunch during the
NYSDA House of Delegates meeting that was held right here in our back yard at the Long Island Marriott
           in Uniondale.
This year’s event spotlighted the dental provider’s role in the prevention of HPV-related cancers.
Foundation Trustee Dr. Liz Kapral spoke about some of the work being done to raise awareness about
the importance of HPV vaccination in New York State, including the Foundation's "9 to Thrive" HPV
prevention campaign, featuring continuing education for the dental community and an HPV prevention
           toolkit available from the Foundation.
The keynote speaker was Mandy Hughes, who delivered a moving and courageous address that left a
lasting impression on everyone in attendance, reminding us that behind every statistic is a person, a
family, and a future worth protecting.
