In The News | Fluoride Controversy

As you’re all aware fluoride has been under attack lately. First with calls from Secretary of Health and
Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to ban fluoride in drinking water and more recently, in May, the
announcement by Kennedy and Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. Marty Makary to seek to
have fluoride supplements removed from the market. The ADA has done a full court press debunking the
false science being put forth by the government and touting fluoride's benefits and safety. On June 9th
Newsday had the controversy as front page news with an extensive article on pages 2 & 3. Featured in
that article were several prominent ADA members, including NCDS Past Presidents Dr. Joe Brofsky and Dr.
Doug Schildhaus; NCDS Executive Director, Dr. Gene Porcelli; Past SCDS President Dr. Steven Feigelson;
