Attention Paratransit Customers Residing in Unincorporated Maricopa County

Valley Metro in partnership with Maricopa County provides Paratransit (also known as Dial-a-Ride)
services to residents who live within unincorporated areas of the County. Valley Metro and Maricopa
County are exploring cost effective and quality service options to address the increased demand and
rising trip costs. This flyer provides information about the changes being considered. Below is a list of
meetings where you can learn more and provide feedback about these proposed changes.

Changes Being Considered Only in Unincorporated Areas of Maricopa County
Valley Metro and Maricopa County are considering the changes listed below for Valley Metro Paratransit
(also known as Dial-a-Ride) only for those who live within Unincorporated areas of Maricopa County. If
approved, the following proposed changes will take effect starting on October 1, 2019.

 Paratransit is designed for people with mobility challenges. The County, consistent with local
jurisdictions that provide Valley Metro Paratransit services, requires all new riders to be ADA
                    certified.
o Interested individuals can get a free ride to and from the Mobility Center for certification.
o Current registered, non-certified riders will only be able to use Valley Metro RideChoice.
 Valley Metro Paratransit will be the service option that riders may use for trips that begin and end
within the mandated ADA service area, which are within three-quarters of a mile of a fixed bus
                    route or light rail station.
o Each one-way trip on Valley Metro Paratransit will cost $4.00.
o Fares will be payable in cash or with tickets available from Valley Metro.
 Valley Metro RideChoice will be an additional service option available to ADA certified residents of
                    Unincorporated areas of Maricopa County.
o RideChoice operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, using LYFT, authorized taxi cab
                           providers and other qualified providers.
o Each RideChoice trip costs $3.00 for the first eight miles and $2.00 for each additional mile.

can learn more about the proposed Paratransit changes, have your questions answered and provide any
comments or concerns you have with the proposed Paratransit changes.
