Prescott Picnic Recap
The annual Prescott, Arizona Paralyzed Veterans of America board meeting and picnic
were hosted on June 8th at the Northern Arizona VA grounds with a turnout of about 40 people.
Chapter members, staff, and family alike were able to enjoy the perfect weather and great
company. The day began with a donation of $3000 from the Papago Chapter of the Rough
Riders. (See photo below) Food and fun came in abundance thanks to our Service Officer
Michael Wilson, as he was responsible for the tasty burgers, bratwursts, ribs and more that were
devoured soon after. An amazing tri-fecta of Cornhole, raffle tickets, and throwback live music
were also provided making it the perfect afternoon. The Navatones, our return live band,
extended their voices and performed their signature songs as they have the last 15+ years. This
year was Kathy Karl’s
(Clinical Social Worker for Prescott’s SCI/D Clinic) first year organizing the picnic but none
the less, she carried it out without a hitch. To conclude our picnic we ended with our annual
Dessert Contest. Judging the delicious treats were myself, Meghan Tuzzolino and also our
Arizona Chapter President Leonard Smith for a fabulous end to a spectacular day. Looking
forward to seeing you at next year’s event already!
