President’s Corner
Happy December to all my AZ. PVA Brothers and Sisters
It was a big year for the Chapter as we are making the changes to the
Chapter operations that will hopefully make our future even brighter.

We will be closing for the holidays from December 21 until January 6 .
The Board voted to allow the staff to work three holidays and use personal
time to give them some well- deserved time off. For those of you who don’t
know the staff works staggered shifts and days off to keep the office open
longer.
That time went to good use as we collected and distributed 1.2 million
dollars’ worth of durable medical equipment and medical supplies. We have
opted to expand the groups we work with such as multiple Elks Lodges that
have Veteran committees. This allowed us to give away over 45 food boxes
for Thanksgiving that contained a week’s worth of food.
We are in the process of considering a move to bring us closer to the
Phoenix VAMC. The Chapter will be attempting to find a location that will
enable us to expand help to our own members and develop better funding
options. It again behooves us to join up with other Veteran groups in the
state to benefit this Chapter.
We are looking at a weekend in mid-January that will allow us to bring our
Terrain Hoppers and TrackChair to an event in Southern Arizona and at
Arizona State University and test off road handcyles too. We will be
working with Southern Arizona Disability Sports and U of A on this project.
Watch your emails for future updates.
Joe Hamilton went to his first Board meeting. The next Desert Oracle will
have an article from Joe about the resolutions and changes proposed by
National PVA.
Well Please enjoy the Christmas Holiday and please be safe
