• On January 19 NAVAHCS hosted another Virtual Veterans Town Hall. Close to 2,000
Veterans attended the meeting. We will continue to host Virtual Veteran Town Hall events.
• On January 28 NAVAHCS participated in a Veterans Resource Fair in Kingman at the

Mohave County Fairgrounds. Staff from the Kingman Clinic Homeless Program as well as our
MyHealtheVet Coordinator attended the event.
Flu Vaccines:
• NAVAHCS is still offering free flu vaccines. Veterans can contact their Primary Care Team
through MyHealtheVet or go to their Team to receive their annual flu shot.
• If a Veteran is enrolled, however they are not assigned to a Team, they can come to Bldg. 158
Primary Care area, and our staff will take care of them. For Veterans who receive care at one
of our CBOCs, they can speak to their Team there and they will provide the Veteran with their
flu shot.
• Veterans can also utilize locations in the community to receive their free flu vaccine. Click here
to view the locations.
Housing Updates for Veterans:
• The Healthcare for Homeless Veterans program currently has 43 positions in three sites. We
are in the process of hiring a Coordinated Entry Specialist in Prescott and Grant Per Diem
Social Worker in Kingman. We are developing a new position, a Peer Support to assist
Veterans with Substance Use Disorders in our Supportive Services for Veteran Families
community programs.
• The Grant and Per Diem programs currently serve 62 Veterans in US Vets transitional housing
Prescott, and 18 Veterans at Jerry Ambrose Veterans Council of Mohave County in
Kingman. The new U.S. Vets Frail Elderly program has housed 7 Veterans. The Transition in
Place program currently transitionally houses 10 Veterans through U.S. Vets and Catholic
Charities.
• The 1 Inaugural James David Warfield Memorial Verde Valley Stand Down will be held March

25 at the Cottonwood Recreation Center, 150 S. 6 Street in Cottonwood. They will be

connecting homeless and at-risk Veterans with community services such as housing,
employment, legal and benefits services.
Vocational Rehabilitation:
• FY21 Employment Outcomes:
o CWT Transitional Work: 42.9% of participants obtained employment at program
completion
o CWT Community Based Employment Services: 60% of participants obtained
employment at program completion
o CWT Supported Employment for Veterans with Serious Mental Illness: 23.5% of
participants obtained employment at program completion
• VHA Vocational Rehabilitation/CWT Program is currently in the process of expanding CWT
vocational services to Mohave County.
• We are continuing to offer “Get Back to Work with CWT” weekly workshop for anyone who
wishes to know more about vocational services available to Veterans within the VA as well as
with our community partners.
