President’s Corner
Happy June 2020 to all my Arizona Paralyzed Veterans of America Brothers and Sisters.
I want to start off by telling you that another one of our PVA Brothers/Great Warriors has passed
away. Past President Joseph L. Fox, Sr. Joe served on the PVA Executive Committee for a total
of 19 years: 4 years as PVA's National President (2000-2004) and again recently as National
Vice President (July 2014-2018).
Our deepest condolences to Hilda and their children. Please, keep them in your thoughts and
prayers.
We will miss you Joe. Rest In Peace.
As we continue to move through the summer months, once again I want to encourage you to stay
hydrated and stay safe.
As a result of coronavirus our governor has issued a stay at home order. With this stay at home
order in place we can sometimes fill Self-isolated at just staying home. Here are a few things we
can do to keep busy, stay connected, and not go stir-crazy.
• Complete a puzzle: The more pieces the better! Feeling extra saucy? Take on a Rubik's Cube.
More of a word person? Crossword puzzle!
• Start a journal or blog. Sure, it can be about the coronavirus, but it could also be about a
specific interest from chess to cheese.
• If it won't bother your neighbors: Dust off that old instrument and practice.
• Write poetry. Perhaps you can craft a haiku for Mother's Day, or something without a specific
structure. Just try it!
• Watch all the really long movies you’ve avoided until now.
These are only a few suggestions of things to do. There are a number of websites that have great
ideas of things to do while staying at home. The key is, remember to stay active and positive.
Update on PVA Arizona Chapters move.
As stated in the executive director’s report we have keys to a large portion of the property and
are storing boxes there. An inspection on the office building turned out very positive as far as
structure. The Chapter needs to put in an internet system to handle the office needs. Executive
director Peter Quinn and the staff are very busy with this move. If you call the office and don’t
get an answer immediately, please be patient, someone will contact you.
The chapter’s next Board of Directors meeting Will be on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 10:30 AM. If
you have any questions please call the office at 6:02-244-9168 or call me chapter President at
480-739-7068.
