members from the Navajo Nation. This was an opportunity for the PVA to

communicate with many of the veterans who attended.

“Care for him who shall have borne the battle and his widow and orphan.” Those

are the words of Abraham Lincoln, spoken during his second inaugural address,

and they reflect the philosophy and principles that guide the VA. PVA’s mission is

to improve communication between Tribal governments, and along with the VA,

to create opportunities to develop strategies for sharing information, services,

and information technologies. With support from the National PVA, and Executive

Director Peter Quinn of the Arizona Chapter, has been the driving force behind

the collaboration which has taken place. Together, with PVA’s lead and other

veteran service organizations, we need to help conquer the issues of the

forgotten soldier, the Native American Veterans.
