• The spouse and caregiver of an Air Force veteran contacted VCC because her
newborn baby required a lengthy surgery. She has other small children and a
disabled husband, and wanted to ensure there would be meals for the family on the
day of the surgery and during recovery. VCC provided ready-made meals to the
family on the surgery date and the day after to help alleviate the caregivers’
responsibility to feed her family while caring for their infant during post-op.

(SWIHA) and sponsored by the Phoenix Metro

Caregivers celebrated National Caregiver’s Day with
an afternoon of fellowship, good food, great
speakers, aromatherapy, massages, gifts, and a
special guest appearance from Tempe Mayor, Mark
                    Mitchell.

The next caregiver event will be held on April
