Executive Director’s Report
nd
The new Chapter Board of Directors will have their first meeting on the 22
of August. I look forward to meeting the new members and working again
with the prior Directors.
Our Chapter budget will be voted on and we will hopefully discuss the
different potentials for long term financial opportunities. Let’s face it; the
Give $19 a Month spiel is overdone by every possible non-profit around the
world.
We will be looking at our own potential and collaboration with other groups
to bring regular cash income to the Chapter. Ideally it will be a service to
help our members and other Veterans first; then help the other disabled
individuals in Arizona.
Our hospital SCI/D Clinics are all moving towards improvement. They are
all three going through personnel changes and most are improving the staff
with each new move. While I doubt that we will ever see the long period of
staff that we’ve had at some of the clinics, the breath of fresh air will
hopefully make it a better future for us as our population ages.
We were approached by the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association 32-5
to do a fundraiser at one of Maricopa’s Gun Clubs. What makes this
interesting is that they received our name from the Papago Chapter of the
Rough Riders. It seems that many of these Veterans are seeing what we
do in the community and want to help us continue on. A nice compliment
from our peers.
On a final note there seems to be some confusion about reimbursements
from the Chapter. If your receipt does not describe what you purchased, it
will not get paid. This has been a long time policy here and there has
always been a no alcohol Chapter policy. So please take the time to get a
receipt; ensure what it states, if you want to get your money.
Be safe; the heats not over
Peter Quinn, Executive Director
