Executive Directors Report
Well it’s already the third month of 2021 and last year is still here.
We have moved and I wish I could say we’re all done but unfortunately we
are not even close. We are trying to get competent contractors here to
modify a few things. Such as pulling all the tubs for the apartments and
have roll in showers but the large increase in new population has deleted
our supply of competent, competitive contractors. Homes and apartments
have increased in cost about 40% and people want them their way. We
expect to be set in about three (3) months.
Thanks to our NSO M. Wilson we have full vaccinations here in Phoenix
and he is diligently working on the Southern and Northern VA areas. The
Prescott area is toughest as it covers 6,000 sq. miles. People don’t want to
drive 4 hours one-way to get a shot; never mind doing it twice. If you
haven’t gotten a call from your clinic, then call them.
I see states are dropping the mask requirements and I wonder if everyone
has forgotten the variant COVID-19s that are now crossing the world. I
don’t like the masks or the lack of greeting with a hand shake but being on
a vent again is a personal deterrent. Add to that only about 60 million
people have been vaccinated. I know two people who are anti-vaxxer’s and
both claimed to have gotten it early 2020. One just got out of a four week
stay between the hospital and quarantine. The second now wears a mask.
In reality since we have had epidemics in the last decade or so you would
think that maybe the USA should really start making our own medical
supplies. A perfect example is the shortage of gloves. Easy to blame the
VA but who controls their money?
Be safe
