Executive Director’s Report
Welcome to my final rantings for 2021. Thank you for reading them.
This has been a challenging year all over the Chapter and the entire PVA.
While we are buying property to develop new programs for Veterans and
hopefully make life better for all of us getting older; we are still fighting to
get face to face with the pandemic that just doesn’t seem to want to go
away.
So, 2021 we finally got into the new campus and realized that we are
spoiled as we really like things our way (only). However, as we have spent
time and money the options seem to be growing every day. We will soon
have our programs spread out and back up and moving.
Hopefully you have all heard that the NVWG’s will be held in Tempe next
July. Have no fear 90% of the events will be indoors. If you are planning on
attending and expect the Chapter’s help; please contact us the first week of
January 2022 for the rules.
This last year has seen a terrific growth in our Chapter staff. Matthew
Jansen is developing into solid force ensuring things are done right for the
Chapter. I really appreciate his viewpoint and memory. Especially as mine
deteriorates with each year. It won’t be long before he is ready to move up.
Dawn is all over the area; whether Woman’s Standdown, food boxes for
Veterans, Quarters for a Cause or so many others. (We need a calendar to
keep track). Dawn also manages to impress those she meets to assist us
financially and even with Covid being rampant brought in over $30,000 last
year. Scotty is our newest staffer and runs an insanely tight ship in our
Loan Closet. He accounts for in and out all equipment and supplies. The
numbers run from $970k to $1.2m a year. Scott is also a wonder at fitting
and modifying equipment for all our clients, especially for Veterans and
children.
Thank you for all your support and we hope for more face to face in 2022.
Happy Holidays and Be Safe
