Executive Director’s Report

Hello and Happy New Year! The years seem to get more exciting each day.
I hope 2021 goes well for you.

We are in the process of the actual move to our new Chapter campus and
while it will take longer than we wish I think the move will be worth it. As of
Feb 5, 2021, our new address will be 1001 E Fairmount Ave. Phoenix, AZ

85014. We will be within a half-mile of the Phoenix VA and the SCI/D
Clinic. We will have photos up ASAP.

Before Christmas, we sent out postcards to all of our member’s home
addresses to ask them for their current email, home address, and phone
numbers to be placed in a drawing with the odds of winning 1:1. That’s right
if you followed the instructions you would “win” a $50 gift card! Well, we

received 19 cards back. So thank you to those who didn’t want to waste our
money but we could still use 200 more email addresses.

The pandemic has given me plenty of time to waste my time doing things
like watching shows I never knew existed and wishing I never acquired that
knowledge. Last year we switched over to an old-fashioned antenna so

again I get different shows and commercials. I am amazed to see
commercials of other Veteran Support Groups and all the things they seem
to have provided for those Veterans. I wonder; didn’t I read in PVA’s
History that we fought to get those homes, vehicles, equipment, and life

enhancements back in the 40”s, 50”s, and 60”s? Why are they showing off
our organization’s founders” hard work? That we take care of all Veterans?

Why don’t ALL people know PVA started Handicap Parking in NYC in the
               40”s-50”s- do you know which?

I was lucky to end up in a great Spinal Cord Center when I did something

stupid. I was told while I rehabbed that whatever some other Vet taught me
I had to teach it to two other Veterans. So why have we let the others take
credit for our predecessors' answers/achievements? We taught and they

               take credit.

               Be Safe
