15 Annual Celebration of Veterans in Gold Canyon

We will be having a Celebration of Veterans – a community wide, free event on Sunday,
November 7, 2021 at 2:00pm in the 1200-seat Sanctuary of the Gold Canyon United
Methodist Church. Everyone is invited. (Doors will open at 1:15pm)

This year’s event will feature guest speaker Rear Admiral James Symonds. He served in
st
the Navy for 35 years and was the 1 commander of the USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN
76), a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, with a crew of over 3,000.

We also will be honoring the East Valley Chapter of the x-POWs and all who are Vietnam
Veterans in the audience with a Pinning Ceremony.

We will have the Honor Guard from the AJHS Navy JROTC and the Emerald Society of
Pipes & Drums. Music will be provided by the Agape Brass plus the combined massed
choir of the Chancel Choir from Gold Canyon United Methodist Church, the
MountainBrook Village Voices and Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church.

Following our event, we invite everyone is stay and have some refreshments.

This event is open to the public at no charge. Everyone is asked to please bring at least
one non-perishable food item per person, if you can, for the Gold Canyon UMC Food Bank.

An offering will be received to benefit the Pinal County Veterans Memorial Foundation.

If you would like to donate, but cannot come to this event, please send a check payable to
PCVMF. Please do not make it payable to the church, but you can mail it to the church.
Gold Canyon United Methodist Church is located at 6640 S. Kings Ranch Rd, one block
north of Hwy 60 (Walgreens on the corner) in Gold Canyon about 4 miles east of Apache
Junction.
