Whilst many people believe that there is always a masterplan and
pre-disposed design behind the creation of an organisation such
as ours, The Port Grocery and Wednesday Welcome is genuinely
something which has organically evolved over time. By having
no big plans set in stone, our growth has been largely influenced
by our community, guests and visitors. This means that community
involvement has always been at the forefront of our growth,
allowing us to focus on what is most important to us – people!
Unreserved special thanks have to go to the following.
Without the selfless effort of:
Jenni Moss, Samantha Walsh, Mike Steenkamp and Ian Thompson,
making 6am starts and working tirelessly until the late hours,
in a building with no heating, we could not have created the
foundation and infra-structure of this project to ensure its success
and longevity.
To Jane Harris from The Steve Morgan Foundation for
her advice, guidance, support and faith in us all.
To John Church, our Board Chairman, for his strong hand on the
tiller ensuring good practice and governance and being our
ambassador and sage.
Finally to our volunteers and staff who work tirelessly to keep this
show on the road and our community for embracing this concept
and making the project the success it is.
When good people come together to
do good work nothing can stop them.
