«CELEBRATE YOUR KNOWLEDGE DAY (CYKD) COURSE WEIGHT 28%«
DESCRIPTION: CYKD: IN-CLASS & TAKE-HOME ASSESSMENT
þ In-class assessment
v The quizzes/exams will ask students to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of a particular
topic. Furthermore, the quizzes may include other types of question formats, including True/False, fill-in
and multiple choices.
þ Take-home assessment
v Students will discuss and write their responses to the assigned questions. Each student is expected to read,
keep a professional journal on the assigned materials, assigned textbook and Book Club readings, and the
discussion, exercise, and case questions.
v Each student will read, review, and complete the questions before the class session.
v Students will keep a typed CYKD take-home assessment journal of their notes/reflections on your assigned
readings/assignments.
v At specific dates, the instructor will request a review of your CYKD take-home assessment journal.
v The analyses will be graded on organization (applying appropriate frameworks), using context appropriate
support, usage, and grammar.
v Note, if students are not participating and not doing the reading before class, the instructor may revise this requirement
and require journals at each class meeting session.
v Each student (not the facilitator) will complete a class reflection/reading journal.
þ Missed assignments cannot be made up. Students with a valid excuse (e.g., medical) for missing an exam may
make-up an exam by arrangement. Students who miss an exam deadline without an acceptable excuse will
receive a zero.
Please refer to the detailed course outline for your CYKD rubric, scheduled assignment
dates/time due, and selected questions.
