ANTHONY GELL SCHOOL SIXTH FORM ROSPECTUS 2020 — 2022
This qualification is for post-16 learners who want to continue their education through
applied learning and to progress to higher education and ultimately to employment,
possibly in the legal sector. It aims to give a coherent introduction to study of the legal
sector.
It is designed to be taken as part of a programme of study that includes other
appropriate BTEC Nationals or A Levels.
Applied Law provides the basis of an excellent route for learners to pursue a career in
the legal sector. This can be through higher education (degrees in business and law) or
through an Advanced Apprenticeship in Legal Services.
There are three mandatory units that learners must complete, one internal and two
external, these are: ‘Dispute Solving in Civil Law’, ‘Investigating Aspects of Criminal Law
APPLIED LAW and the Legal System’ and ‘Applying the Law’. There is an additional unit that will be
delivered and assessed in Year 13 which will include one of the following options:
