ParentInterest and Energy
Priory community. This was a sharing of hospitality, friendship and holiday good wishes. The fire will be burning warmly and a good cup of tea ready to welcome again this holiday season.
• For the first time, we have systematic financial records, job descriptions, and binders for each Board position.
• We triumphed over a substantial list
of activities in support of PA goals -
creating a warm and welcoming community, acting as liaison to other elements of the Priory community, supporting awareness of Benedictine values, and contributing to campus life, especially in the academic realm.
Looking ahead, we have many new job titles for the coming year: Boarding Student Liaison, Photographers, Open House Liaison, Bulletin Board Designer and Foyer Table Decorator. We are proud of this synergy of shared goals and mission and are looking forward enthusiastically to our second year as PA Board Co-Chairs.

Parent Association
The WPS Parent Association approached the 1998-99 academic year with a vibrant enthusiasm to recruit, harness, systemize and direct the considerable talents of our diverse, multi- national parent community. A marked increase in parent interest and energy made it possible to divide up tasks that formerly fell to just one volunteer - we got a lot done!
It is a pleasure to report these accomplishments:
• Support for the Arts, a new committee created last year, has now blossomed into four separate divisions— Theater, Choir, Orchestra and Visual Arts. Our hope is that parent volunteers can help enrich opportunities in these programs, which are all growing.
• A fledgling Spirituality/Reflection Group for parents has been nurtured into a successful existence.
Parents’ informal Make-a-Monk sessions revived an old craft tradition from a past era of parents. The ornaments decorated the foyer at Christmas and raised $700 for charity. This year, we have an official crafts leader on the PA Board.
• The Christmas Tea and Ornament Exchange proved to be a popular new event for the whole
