On the Edge of a Precipice by Leyla Gillett
And I stood there, at the edge of the lawn Gazing into the starry abyss below Wondering where the road
Had decided to run off to.
How was I to get to school?
There was a brisk wind
Whose shallow breaths
Sent ripples across its surface.
Almost like a midsummer lake.
It was enticing, delighting,
And I wondered what would happen
If I shifted my weight into a single step
And tumbled into the reflection ofexistence.
