ASB took school spirit to a whole new level.
panther pride
Alongside the leadership of the teachers,
the ASB, or Associated Student Body, runs Priory. Their contributions include updating the dress code, organizing break activities, keeping the Panther Shack stocked with snacks, providing a voice for the students, and regulating other aspects of student life.
On the first day of school, as is traditional, the ASB unveiled their theme with a dramatic stage performance and an introductory video. As they fought off dragons and each other, it was slowly revealed that the theme they had chosen was “Panther Pride.” Over the course of the next few months, ASB proved to its student body just how much pride they had and how dedicated they were to making Priory a better place.
The ASB has made several big changes this year, like changing the dress code so that students no longer are required to wear collared shirts. The
format of Spirit Week was altered as well, with each class having a specific part of campus to decorate which stayed decorated for the duration of the week. They also implemented the Panther Cup competition, in which each class is awarded “spirit points” for attending events such as sports games and plays, donating to the Food Drive, and participating in various spirit days. The class with the most points at the end of the year wins the Panther Cup. Finally, the ASB now organizes break activities every Friday, in contrast with previous years, when break activities occurred randomly throughout the year.
ASB was led by President Tom Latta (12), Vice President Chris Gregory (12), Treasurer Charlie Tidmarsh (12), Secretary Christian Wookey (12), Spirit Coordinator Riley Gallivan (12), Athletics Coordinator Brandon Zarringhalam (12), Dorm Liaison Amanda Lee (12), and SLAC Chair Shivani Dayal (12).
