What did you learn this year?:
Every year, I love it. For me, this year, I learned the most at Arlington 4 Cemetery. Our tour guide takes us to interesting monuments and
tombstones to see all those different tombstones that I usually wouldn't notice.
What do you think about the Holocaust Museum?: The Holocaust Museum was the most powerful experience just because many of the students know very little and they get to have this painfully personal experience where they see it face to face.
How was taking care of the 8th graders?: They were absolutely great, but they had a lot of energy and they wore us out.

another adventure
Waking up at five in the morning and getting to school
at six is what the eighth graders did the morning of their trip to Washington DC. For many, this was one of the first times traveling so far away from their parents for so long. This trip was a journey of fun and learning. The eighth graders experienced much of this nation's past through various museums.
One of their most memorable experiences was the Holocaust Museum. The horrifying story of the Holocaust evidently left an equally impacting museum. Alex Han said, “It was the most moving place I have ever been to.” The museum was as equally inspiring as it was impacting. Hannah Lazarus said, “It makes you think about the past.” Students became even more thankful for the soldiers who they saw pictured in the various museums. Vincent Cullinan said, “I learned that the world is not the happy place it looks like and that we need to honor those who fought for our country and save those that are still fighting. “
The eighth graders naturally learned many new things during their trip. They not only learned some historical information, but also gathered some interesting facts. Alex Han recounts, “I learned a ton about American history, plus the fact that President Taft weighed over 300 pounds.”
Furthermore, the eighth graders were able to have fun and experience the other aspects of touring Washington D.C. They were able to enjoy a merry-go-round. Jasmine Tang said, “I would say that one of the best parts was going on the merry-go-round with most of my class. A couple of friends and I got into a spinning flower pot, the one where you turn yourself with a wheel in the center. Everyone else seemed so drab, going up and down with us just flying in circles!”
Evidently, the eighth graders were able to both accumulate knowledge and have fun at our nation's capital.
