Water polo Panthers overcame a lack of resources to beat some of the best teams in the league.

The water polo team had a great season this year
with coach James Smith. In comparison to last year's single win, the boys were able to pull off an impressive nine victories this year, proving that they truly belonged in their competitive league, even when pitted against the big public schools who had inherently more players and resources. The Panthers came out in full force, training their new members alongside the old ones and obliterating their previous record in an awe-inspiring season.
Despite their setbacks, the Priory water polo team came back new and improved this year. Led by co- captains Brooks Royals (10) and William Xu (12), who was the lone senior on the team, the boys put forth a

stalwart effort and secured several victories over much larger and more practiced teams. The team's best win, however, came at the end of the season.
The last team that the Panthers faced was Terra Nova, a team that had at least three times as many players as Priory had. All week, they dreaded the match, fearing the worst outcome. Though it was their last game, and Will Xu's senior night, nobody went into the game with much hope. “They are a much stronger team than us,” said Xu of the game. “None of us went into the game with the hope of winning, but we tried hard and we actually won 6- 3. And we pushed the coach into the pool. So that was good.”
