This year's Priory faculty mixes some are new new faces amongst those that
have been here for decades.

got a Big Hunk candy bar but usually it was just the glory of going home first,” said Mrs. Newman. While many of the “veteran teachers” reflect on what has changed, the new teachers offer fresh perspectives and new ideas.
This is particularly evidenced by the changes made in the English department, in which the majority of teachers have arrived during the last five years. Said new arrival Corinne Fogg, “Priory is a school brimming with provocative and insightful students, and the faculty are constantly seeking improved ways to engage students in constructivist learning. I am struck by how creative and intelligent the faculty are, and the enthusiasm for learning is contagious to kids.”
When the Priory started, it was quite different than it is today,
but it has always had truly brilliant teachers. When the Priory began, “We had roughly a dozen monks in the monastery and most of them taught,” said Mr. Trudelle. Mr. Zappelli added, “There were 106 students in grades 7-12 and boarders accounted for more than half of the student body. The school was all-boys and had a very strict dress code. Students were not allowed to remove their blue Priory sweaters unless the headmaster granted permission. Seniors were allowed to smoke at break on what is now Benedictine square.” Although many things have changed, some traditions have stayed the same. “Mr. Trudelle and I used to have races about who could get their grades and comments done first.
