a whole different

Math and science classes have never experienced such variety, excitement, wardrobe, and musk
Students are lucky to learn science from a
variety of premium educators. Between Mrs. Newman, Mr. Trudelle, Mr. Bessin, Mr. Clark ,Mrs. Muir-Parker and Dr. Tang the choices are exceptional. David Theis (12) says that one of his favorite parts of Priory are the science opportunities. He says, “The science program at Priory is an insightful, challenging experience meant to test the knowledge of the academic.”
Like David, most students finish the year with great memories from the lab or the classroom. The science program is enjoyable in large part due to the educators striving to find innovative new ways to teach. Between penny experiments in the chemistry lab and compost lessons in the garden, students are bound to learn something new. Says Laura Wu (12), “We have a compost bin (for AP Environmental Science). Pretty sick. It's behind Mr. Clark's office. He also brought in worms - in his tick jar!”
The math department is full of bright, persistent, cheerful teachers including Mrs. Newman, Mr. Riebhoff, Mrs. Faisal, Mr. Marsheck, Mr. Sargent, Mr. Turner, and Mr. Montero. Though many of them were relocated this year due to construction, their enthusiasm and spirit remained strong. In BC Calculus, Mr. Marsheck continues to dole out not-s- witty jokes and loud noises to break up the monotony and continues to foster a communicative learning environment in which everyone feels able to ask questions and strive for understanding. Will Latta (12) says, “What I really liked about BC Calculus is the community-oriented learning atmosphere. Marsheck always knows when to lighten up the mood with a joke that's always exacerbated by his immaculate wardrobe and musk. I really will miss it.”
What's the coolest new fact or technique you learned in your science class this year?
“When something is homozygous it means that the genetic letters are the same”
- Samantha Sargent (8)
“The avocado's number is 6.022 x 10^23 !!!” -Nariko -Murillo (11)
jar of worms
“In Chemistry, I learned the importance of understanding the world from an empirical perspective”
-Alex Klein (12)
1. Lilly Johnson (10) finishes
her math homework as Mr. Marsheck watches intently. 2. Reactions run rampant as Mr. Tang and Mr. Trudelle give an exciting chemistry demonstration to Jasmine Tang (8), Nicholas Arslaner (9) and Alicia Talancon (9). 3. During class, Kira Patterson (12) makes sure to pay close attention to her teacher's complicated explanation.

which came first,
the chicken or the egg?
“I believe it was the hard boiled egg.”
- Riley Gallivan (12)
“The egg came first because the chicken is a relatively new species and other species came before the chicken and they had eggs.”
- Garrett Weber (11)
“C. Wook came first” - Will Latta (12)
“The chicken, or an ancestor of a chicken, so a chicken egg? Or a chicken ancestor if that is part of the family”
-Christian Wookey (12)
“The chegg. The chicken- egg.” -Anna Brett (11)
“The egg.”
