What's the biggest change you've seen in the math department from when you started teaching up to now?
“I was the Priory's first full time math teacher. The math department has gotten a lot bigger and is offering a lot more classes than twenty years ago when I started. Students are much more talented also.”
What's your favorite part about teaching math?
“Working with kids. I love being in a room full of teenagers. They make you laugh and occasionally want to cry. But they are always unpredictable and present in the moment. Unless they are sleeping or texting or doing homework for another class...”
What advice do you have for your students?
“If you work really hard, you can surprise yourself by what you accomplish.”

“The egg, because the chicken is hatched from the egg.” - Jacey Reed (9)
“Obviously the egg because you never specified it was a chicken egg.” - Graham Hughes (10)
“Both.”
- Sarah Reid (12)
“Eggs, part of a healthy, balanced breakfast. Chicken, the staple meat of a delicious dinner. So the egg came first, and boy was it tasty.”
- Will Galloway (12)
“The egg came first as other animals, such as dinosaurs laid eggs way before chickens came into existence.”
- David Casente (10)
“Neither, it was the T. rex. Plus some other dinosaurs that had feathers first, which must have looked either really ridiculous or really awesome.” - Anna Gutow (8)
