Pannonhalma in Hungary he studied at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland where he attained a degree in both German and French, giving birth to his lifelong love of languages. After the Hungarian revolution of 1956 he was given the opportunity to come to the U.S. and eventually California and Woodside Priory.
In his decades as teacher and monk at Woodside Priory School he exemplified the spirit and values of Saint Benedict. To students and to faculty alike he was always warm and approachable and his conversations were usually laced with subtle wit and humor. He was a real magnet for the young children who loved his kindness and his willingness to spend time with them as if they were the only kids in the world. The sparkle in his eyes could light up a room.
He passed into the hands of the Lord just two days after celebrating his 65th anniversary of ordination to the priesthood. He was loved by monks, students, teachers, alumni, and his many friends and will be missed by all. May he rest in peace.
