Sports are a big part of the Priory Middle School experience and soccer brings the middle school boys
#together on the field. “Our team has good chemistry and respect for each other,” says Colby Cheung (8). The sixth grade teams are efficient and can get the ball down the field. “Our team does very well on teamwork and finding the open man upfield,” said Ethan Veghte (6). Paul Barton (6) agrees, saying, “We can pass the ball very well to the forwards, but our team does need to work on defending.” For the

older boys, it’s exactly the opposite. “We need to work on offense so that we can score more,” says Mark Hughes (7). The boys seem to all agree that their toughest opponent, no matter what team has been Sacred Heart. “The best moment so far is tying against Sacred Heart 4-4 because they are a league above us,” says Brandon Zelaya (6). The boys all have goals, too. For Thomas Screven (6), it’s to “work on ball handling”. These boys play tough, but smart putting the team first.
