This year everyone was feeling a little bit fancy. Well that's because Iggy Azalea won our musical brains with her catchy throwback '90s hit “Fancy”. Or maybe you were feeling a little happy? Music makes everyone happy, especially if you listened to “Happy” by Pharell which was voted the song of the year. Taylor Swift released her new album with hits such as “Blank Space” and “Out of the Woods” throwing shade to her former flames. At the Grammy's this year, Beck won Album of the Year for his album Morning Phase, beating out Beyoncé and Sam Smith. Kanye West nearly interrupted Beck's Grammy speech to complain, but thought better of it once on the stage. Sam Smith swept the Grammy's with his song “Stay With Me”and won the coveted Record of the Year. The song that was stuck in our heads for most the most was the moving ballad by Hozier titled “Take Me to Church.”

The United States was rocked with controversy over the filmThe Interview,inwhichJamesFrancoandSeth Rogen played reporters who were tasked with assassinating Kim Jong Un. Radicls threatened to bomb U.S. cinemas, causing the movie to be pulled from theaters. The film was later released on Youtube and Netflix and some wonder if the act was all a publicty stunt. SELMA hit theaters as the emotional award winning movie captivatedthestrugglesofMLK'slife.The Fault in Our Starswastheromancemovieoftheyearwhile22 Jump Street was considered comedic gold. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxywasoverallthebestmovieoftheyearwith the next Hunger Games installment falling right behind.
