Kicking and screaming

This year the soccer team worked hard and came together as a team and to push through the hard games. Although the team lost five key senior players and their goal keeper, they stayed strong throughout the season and kept their teamwork intact. The new freshmen on the team showed great competence and met the expectations of the coaches and the team. The upperclassmen were happy to see new and old faces on their team, and built not only a community,butalsobuiltnewfriendshipsthathelpedthem throughout the season. Filling in the empty spots of last year's seniors, the freshman worked hard to meet the coaches' and teams' expectations. The older girls on the soccer team were very opening and welcoming to the new
faces. Freshman, Samantha Allison (9), said, “it's really fun being able to play with older kids who are super supportive but it is really challenging going against much larger players.” One of the veteran players, Ashley Jones (12) said, “I think we have great team chemistry and each player gives the game their all and works amazingly hard.” Not only were the soccer players happy but the coach also hadmanythingstosay.Whenaskedaboutthisnew year's freshman on the team, he replied, “ummmmm.” Overall, the Priory's soccer girls varsity team has had a great year.
