Bend it like BeckhamBy Gracie Hamren and Julia Teymourian
The boys soccer team emphasized perseverance throughout their season this year. They have adapted to the shape of the new team. Sergio Lopez (10) says “ The loss of important seniors from last year has been hard for the team, but we are trying to bring it back!” The graduated seniors made up a big part of their old power and agility especially, according to their record so far,1-6. According to Sergio Calderon (9) “ The freshmen that help the team may be young but are aspiring to create a new and improved boy's soccer team for the years to come. We will make up for the missing seniors!” It's not
just the talent that makes up a team, its also the glue that holds it together.Led by seniors Bailey Marsheck (12), Maxwell Reines (12), Benjamin Clock (12), Alberto Coppola (12) and Samuel Ogunleye (12), most of which have been playing for all four years, it will be difficult to say goodbye to such dedicated members when they graduate. Benjamin Morss (10) says, “ I haven't been on a team with this much spirit, and closeness. We might not look like a family, but we are.” Despite their record, the boys soccer team has built a team the has the potential to be a priory legacy in coming years.
