antichymotrypsin, gelsolin, alpha-2- hs-glycoprotein, and serum amyloid a-1 proteins showed
significant difference between severe and control groups. Plasma MRM for these proteins in 231
samples from 18 healthy controls, 13 severe and 68 mild/moderate COVID patients with follow-up
samples at 2 different time points revealed that albumin, haptoglobin, alpha-1- anti-chymotrypsin,
transthyretin and leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein show significant dysregulation at day 1 between
control and severe group and mild group. Targeted lipidomic analysis revealed upregulated levels of 23
triglycerides. Shantanu Sengupta has also spearheaded the establishment of a cohort of CSIR-IGIB
personnel and their family for long term follow-up of health and disease outcomes. During the
COVID19 pandemic, this cohort was utilized for understanding viral exposure and vaccine efficacy. In
addition, serosurveillance was performed in a cohort of healthcare workers from which breakthrough
infection rate and vaccine effectiveness was estimated.
