2024, water resources management hasprogressed through the implementation of operational plans by water-related agencies, the revision of targets, and the promotion of key water resources projects in line with those plans. Furthermore, lessons learned frommeasures to cope with the rainy season and to prepare for the dry season were gathered, while field visits were conducted to monitor and evaluate implementation. Problems and obstacles were analyzed and addressed in order to find preventive solutions to reduce the impacts of droughts and floods on the people. At the same time, river basin water chart such as for the Chi River Basin and the Lower Part of Peninsula-East Coast River Basinhave been expedited to guide land use in line with the water system, so as to prevent deviations, flow blockages, or obstructions that would hinder flood and drought management measures. In addition, the master plans for water resources management in the 22 river basins prepared by the River Basin Committees will serve as frameworks for their own basin-level water management.As the Secretary-General of the Office of theNational Water Resources, and in my capacity as a Committee Member and Secretary to the NationalWater Resources Committee, I believe that sustainable water resources management under the circumstances of climate change requires cooperation from all sectors. Collaborative efforts, mutual understanding, andsystematic integration are essential, together with the application of appropriate technologies and innovations to solve and alleviate flood and drought problems,to develop water sources, and to restore nature in order to increase water volume. Fair and equitable water allocation is also crucial. These are challenges for government agencies, local government organizations, the private sector, stakeholders, as well as the River Basin Committees, to collectively protect this invaluable water resource for the nation and future generations in a sustainable manner.7ANNUAL REPORTNational Water Resources Committee (NWRC) 2024
