For the first time it felt like the right
information was getting to the right people
and stuff was happening in the courtrooms
regarding cannabis. International
legislation was passed and we know South
Africa likes to follow trends, so many people
were thinking of creative ideas on how to
make a living doing something they love
that involves cannabis.
All except us, all we wanted or offered back
then was a voice, with that many followers
the media took us a little more serious
when there was some negative news about
cannabis, people took notice when we
spoke and it was an amazing time to be
alive as we saw the walls of prohibition
cracking.
People were looking at getting grow
permits, or making smoking devices, or
something to do with the growing of
cannabis, the one thing that still needed
was for someone to create a good standard
through the cannabis industry something
for the cannabis people by cannabis people,
not about getting rich quick, but really
offering value added service with cannabis
related goods. A trusted cannabis brand, all
brands under one roof. I wanted to take the
stigma that some people had attached to
the word dagga and turn it into something
positive. We knew we needed an original
idea something that will unite the cannabis
users in a truly South African way, one
morning the word just came to me
Daggabay I loved the word Dagga and knew
it had power behind it as it turns heads if
spoken aloud in a room, it was a proudly
South African term little international
people even knew about.

People that don't know about cannabis
are scared, first get them used to the
idea that sick people can use it to get
better than they might not be as afraid
of recreational uses.
The people that wanted to get involved
in the cannabis trade did not always
have the means to sell their cannabis
idea’s. When we realized the name
Daggabay was available, the snowball
effect happened from 2017 till now
2020 we gathered 49 Shops that all
have some cannabis related business
idea. We felt it was necessary to offer
free service because we know that the
cannabis business out there is not
making money every month and
sometimes just needs a break from
paying for hosting or admin fees, that's
why we only charge a small % when a
sale happens our reps take more
percentage per sale than Daggabay.
Just before December 2020 we finally
have enough South African vendors and
products to feel like we have something
great to offer the people, the team of
people, the magazine, but most
important the community’s
involvement is making this to be one
amazing experience and to think it's all
just starting now.
