ABBEY
WELCOME
TO ABBEY
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the new
students and their families.
We hope your time with us at Abbey will be a happy
and positive experience. Our aim is to provide you with
the care and support to make the most of your time at
Millfield. We want to support you to make positive and
exciting choices in your time here.
Abbey will soon feel like a home from home. A place to
work, spend time with friends, have fun and relax. We
hope to become a solid base from which you can explore
all the exciting opportunities Millfield has to offer. When
things go well, we look forward to sharing that with you
and if anything goes awry, we will be here to support you.
I have been a liaison and Group Tutor in Kernick House
for the past six years and Assistant Housemistress since
January 2023. I teach English in the English and Media
department.
Abbey is a warm and friendly house and everyone is
encouraged to contribute and be involved in how the
house is run. The Upper Sixth help support all the
students in house and keep a close eye on newcomers so
they can support them in settling in.
We have 54 students in Abbey ranging from Year 10 to
Upper Sixth. Whilst everyone has either a shared bedroom
with one other or a room on their own, there is also plenty
of space to socialise with friends in and out of the house.
We are conveniently located on the main campus. We
are in a prime location, set back from the main avenue,
overlooking an orchard from the front and the equestrian
centre to the back of the house.
